Maiden Medusa's Inspired Labyrinth

September 23, 2011

Since launching her label seven years ago, Australia designer
Camilla Franks continues to dominate the catwalks.

Camilla is notoriously known as a designer who has a unique approach
to creating colourful, playful and luxurious lifestyle statements.

With an ever expanding list of celebrity fans including
Oprah Winfrey, Lily Allen, Kim Cattrall, Fergie, Beyonce and Gwen Stefani,
Camilla's brand is certainly on the move.

Camilla's colourful Labyrinth Spring/Summer 2011 Collection is inspired by the magnificence of the Bengal Tiger.

The presence of the serpent patterns are in turn inspired by Greek Mythology’s maiden Medusa.

This S/S Collection boasts an array of new shapes, fabrications and embellishments – from hand made metal-stamped charms and embroidery, to beading and her signature Swarovski crystal adornments.

New body shapes and silhouettes include tank tops, vests, wrap dresses and the ultimate multi-tiered silk crepe dress made from a staggering 29 metres of fabric.

Fabrics include silk jerseys, crepes and satins, voiles, modal (super-soft cotton Lycra) and crochet.

And her latest finishing touch – sky-high wooden platforms topped with fabrics to match your favourite design from the range.

And just in case you haven't already fallen head over heels in with with Camellia's collection, here's her unique philosophy:

“All women have the right to look and feel beautiful no matter their age, colour, size or origin”

“I design for all shapes and sizes – all personalities and walks of life – I just want to make women look and feel beautiful whether it’s in a figure-hugging micro mini or a lavishly bejewelled cocktail dress”.
