During our holiday in Paris we were lucky enough to be staying round the corner from the notorious Ladurée bakery on Rue Bonaparte.
Always a believer of 'saving the best until last', we waited until our last day in the city to visit for breakfast.
The venue was beautiful and we were seated upstairs upon arrival - unlike other reviews, we found our service to be fast and friendly. After 5 days of gorging on beautiful french food, we ordered a light breakfast of pastries, hot chocolate, coffee and scrambled eggs.
The pastries were good and the hot chocolate was rich and creamy (although not the best I had in Paris). The real star of breakfast was the scrambled eggs - my gosh were they good!! Fluffy, well seasoned and cooked just right, they are honestly the best eggs we've ever eaten. Russell even got rather emotional stating 'It's a crime we'll never taste scrambled eggs like this agin' - always the pessimist eh!
If you want the best macaroons in Paris, go to Ladurée. The quality of the macaroons is exceptional and the flavours change each season. It's a bit pricey but is definitely worth it - I took a few boxes home as gifts in beautiful boxes (I regretted not getting myself one).
