Bombay Sapphire Gin Journeys at The Sanderson

October 13, 2015

After a hard day at the office shuffling papers and sending emails, there's nothing that hits the spot quite like a Gin and Tonic.

Offering a retreat from the bustle of the city, last week me and the lovely Natalie from Lipstick and Lobster went along to Bombay Sapphire's Gin Journeys at The Sanderson.

The six week long pop-up includes a gin bar and masterclasses located in the hotel in Berners Street, Fitzrovia. Now fully booked, the masterclasses allow you to experience an exotic journey around the world travelling to the Mediterranean, West Africa and Asia.

Awaiting you is a discovery of the 10 botanical ingredients in Bombay Sapphire and the journeys taken to source them. With the information communicated through an immersive sensory experience, the 45 mins flew by.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Bombay Sapphire brand ambassador Renaud de Bosredon and shown to a small room overlooking the terrace.

Designed to heighten the worldly inspiration behind the drinks through touch, sound, smell and sight, the masterclass tought you about the botanicals (which are vapour infused at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill).

We both had a lot of fun spritzing atomisers, listening to soundtracks and tasting complementary pairings whilst blindfolded, and came away with a new admiration for gin.

After the masterclass we were invited to retire to the terrace for further cocktails based around the botanical regions we learnt about.

The pop-up bar is in residence until the end of October so don't miss this little gem (sapphire?) situated just off Oxford Street.
