Hache Burger | Date Night Menu Review

Hache Burger review

Burger restaurants have shed their once greasy reputation. Soggy buns, fried onions and grey meat patties are a thing of the past! There are now hundreds of places in London to get a burger fix, all serving gourmet options to hungry diners.

Russell and I were recently invited to dine at Haché, who are attempting make Monday the new Friday with their new Date Night Menu. You get to choose one starter to share, a burger and side each plus a bottle of wine to share, all for £20 each (and the best bit about it? It’s available to eat in or take out!).

The deal seemed a little too good to be true, but flippin' 'eck, their burgers were good! We visited the restaurant in Hipster Shoreditch and was rather relieved to find the setting wasn’t a renovated warehouse - instead the interior was warm, inviting and dare I say it… even romantic!

Hache Burger reviewSabrina Ghayour burger

I ordered the Steak Sabrina (a burger created by Sabrina Ghayour for Action Against Hunger - £1 per sale is donated to help save the lives of malnourished children in almost 50 countries). The beef patty is topped with Merguez sausage, harissa ketchup, dill mayonnaise, crumbled feta & gherkins and served between soft, bouncy brioche. Packed full of texture and taste, the aromatic spice of the harissa and salty richness of the feta were the perfect partners.

Russell chose the Steak Truffle burger, which was simple but stupendously good. Topped with truffle shavings, truffle aioli, caramelised onions and Gruyère cheese, the burger offered melt-in-the-mouth flavours. The burger also benefited from being slightly charred on the outside, yet moist and rare within.

The real star of the show for us was with HACHÉ Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon, which for £19 a bottle is an absolute steal! With hints of ripe plum, toasted hazelnut and juicy blackcurrant, this wine certainly gets the saliva glands ready for a meat feast!

I hadn’t visited Haché before, but would thoroughly recommend the date night deal – what a way to start the week!
