Flatforms, the Shoe of 2011?

A Hybrid of shoes have stepped onto the Spring/Summer 2011 catwalks with the fashion backing from Prada and Chanel.

The shoe was styled on the obscure chopine, a towering platform shoe worn by courtesans in Europe in the 15th century.

Flatforms have the hight of platforms but the comfort of flats, giving hight without pain, and it's the perfect accessory for all the maxi lengths seen on the runway for the upcoming season!

However, they really are quite ugly; Elegant these ain't.

Celebrities have yet to be papped in them, despite having first dibs on the freshest looks off the runway before the public (flatforms were shown last October) -Although it did take Alexa Chung nearly half a year from the time clogs were aired on the catwalk to wearing them on the cover of Vogue in March 2010.

Only time will tell if this trend will take off...
