aMUSE Magazine Launch

April 13, 2012

A group of editors and journalists from News International, Condé Nast and Hearst have collaborated to launch aMUSE, a new free monthly fashion and lifestyle glossy exclusively for London which will launch on 30 April.

The new magazine is edited by Sasha Slater, formerly of The Times and a former editor of ES Magazine, while other key members of the editorial team include: Stephanie Hirschmiller, deputy editor, who is the former editor of HarpersBazaar.co.uk; Arabella Preston, beauty editor, a columnist and the Duchess of Cambridge’s make-up artist; and Bethan Cole, formerly of the Sunday Times Style section, who will oversee the beauty pages. Other contributors include: Sadie Frost and Iris Law, who will be the magazine's mother-and-daughter columnists each month; Vogue’s Lauren Cochrane; restaurateur Rowley Leigh; Victoria Moore, International Wine Writer of the Year; interior designer Kelly Hoppen; and fashion designers David Koma and Alessandra Rich.

Plus my very own Nick Cox has a column!

The launch issue includes interviews with Gwyneth Paltrow, Stella McCartney, Norah Jones and Selfridges’ Alannah Weston.

aMUSE, published by aMUSE Media, will target affluent women readers in London and offer a mixture of arts & culture, fashion & beauty, shopping & lifestyle, all with a focus on "what’s happening right now at the heart of the city". Alongside the print title, the title will employ digital and social media, as well as an app which is due to launch in September.

Stephen Murphy, who is the Publisher of aMUSE and formerly launched Square Mile Magazine, commented: "Free magazines are a major part of the evolving media landscape. When we launched Square Mile in 2005, the only free media was Metro. Nearly seven years on, advertisers appreciate the benefit of free. We invest in content and quality – that brings the readers – and then the advertisers follow."
