What a way to start the day!
Le Chalet, a pop-up restaurant found on the roof of Selfridges, promises amazing views of Oxford Street with seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients. Packed with
fairy lights and yuletide logs, the roof of Selfridges has been transformed into a winter wonderland.
Ever the brunch lovers we are, Russell and I visited last weekend to try their breakfast menu. Wrapped up in cosy blankets, we felt snug as a bug whilst we sat in the transparent plastic conservatory.

If you’re expecting an Alpine or winter menu, here's the place to come. I ordered the wild mushrooms and duck egg whilst Russell played it safe with smoked salmon with scrambled eggs.
My dish was extremely flavoursome: the different varieties of wild mushrooms bought a woody flavour to the rich ducks egg whilst the parsley kept each mouthful fresh and clean.

The restaurant serves a fantastic menu of super powered drinks: from smoothies to cocktails.
I ordered the Espresso Maca - steamed almond milk, espresso, maca, ginger, hibiscus, liquorice and chili powder, coconut oil, raw honey. It certainly packed an energising kick and was the highlight of my meal.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast, however agreed we probably wouldn't return. The views were anything but spectacular - we had a window seat but could only gaze at views of Soho - and the food was good but a little expensive. Be warned, even without alcohol breakfast for two can easily top £70.
