My Every-Day Beauty Heros

With thousands of beauty products on offer it's almost impossible to know where to start, especially with the every day essentials.

It is so easy to get caught up in the hype of new beauty products - celebrity endorsed lipsticks, placenta infused moisturisers and bee venom eye cream get their fair share of press - whilst the day-to-day items we use seem to get swept under the carpet.

Daily beauty basics don't need to be boring, in fact the below items I use day in day out have blown me away! I have a hunch that you'll love them just as much as I do...

deodrant during pregnancy

Something I hope we all use every day is underarm deodorant. When my sister fell pregnant last year her midwife advised her to find a natural alternative if she planned to breast feed, and after doing some research into the nasty chemicals regular deodorants contain I decided to make the swap too.

Neal's Yard Remedies offer two sprays that combine pure essential oils and herbal extracts to prevent odour-causing bacteria. Available in lemon and coriander and lavender and aloe vera, I am obsessed with both smells and swap between the two. They're also free from pore-blocking aluminium salts and preservatives too - win win!

Nicknamed “Cleopatra’s Cream” and worshipped by Hollywood stars, Egyptian Magic is the one product I would take with me if I was stranded on a desert island. I've found the natural formula (that dates back more than 2,500 years) works wonders on all skin types - everyone in my family from my baby nephew to my great grandma now uses it.

The formula contains no additives, added preservatives, parabens or GMO ingredients. Made from Olive oil, bees wax, honey, bee pollen and royal jelly it's super nourishing whilst not leaving you oily. It's also great for sensitive skin as it's fragrance free, and I've noticed it's really helped fade old scars and pigmentation on my face.

You might not have heard of Claudia Fallah, but she is a woman who can work skin care miracles. After visiting her for a bespoke facial last year to help me overcome my worst break out for years, I've been using her Azulene Foam Facial Wash every morning and haven't had a flair up since.

This is an extremely gentle and hydrating face wash that removes impurities and de-congests, and due to it's natural ingredients doesn't strip the skin. The soothing azulene calms, conditions and protects, while mango extract helps to balance uneven skin tone. It's a little expensive for a face wash but worth every penny - one bottle has lasted me months and I'm only half-way through.

I only discovered Oskia recently, but I'm already addicted to their Micro Exfoliating Balm. Cleverly formulated to buff away tired skin cells and impurities using the tiniest silica and MSM particles, the formulator becomes milky when mixed with water making it super gentle on sensitive skin.

Unlike other exfoliators this balm leaves a nourished and super moisturised barrier on my skin once washed off. It's been so popular in my house-hold I've started hiding it from my boyfriend.
