We finished the day with dinner with friends from home (how lucky was I that my best buddie Ellie Tanner was visiting Paris at the same time?).
After lots of Trip Advisor research we came across Chez Toinette, located at 20 Rue Germain Pilon, which was rated the 37th best resturant in Paris (out of over 13,000) during the week we visited Paris.
Promising a charming setting and quintesentially Parisian food, we were a little worried we wouldn't get a table (there's only 10 tables in the resturant, so if you are planning to go i'd recomend booking in advance). Luckily we arrived just as they opened and bagged a table.
I opted for fillet steak which was served alongside potatoes, vegtables and the most amazing sauce (just look at that glaze). Dessert was the an oozing melt-in-the-middle chocolate cake - I think the picture speaks for itself.
The service was very freindly (the owner is charming), and although the resturant is a hot spot for tourists due to its great reputation I felt the menu was reasonably priced, tasty classic dishes (around €15 for a main course). There's a good, unpretentious selection of wine too.
