Total Pancake Recipe

Total Pancake Recipe

Looking for a simple and healthy breakfast treat?

I've been a big fan of Total Yoghurt ever since I discovered the high sugar content of natural and dairy free alternatives.

Suitable for both sweet and savoury cooking, this little pot has become a fridge essential in our household. It's fat free which pleases me, and high in protein which is a big plus for my partner.

Total Pancake Recipe

For an easy mid-morning meal follow these simple instructions:

Sweet:
In a bowl, combine strawberries with icing sugar, mint/basil and lemon juice. Refrigerate overnight (or for at least 3 hours).
When ready to serve, combine the strawberry mixture with the Total Greek Yoghurt and serve on top of stacked pancakes. Sprinkle with Chai Seeds for extra goodness.

 Savoury:
Crack eggs into a bowl and whisk with milk to make basic scrambled egg mix, season to taste.
Melt butter in a non-stick saucepan, pour in the egg mixture and cook until it scrambles, then fold in 100g of Total Greek Yoghurt, followed by chives/spring onion.
Spread the pancakes with a think layer of Total Greek Yoghurt and spoon on the scrambled egg.

Happy National Milk Day | Daioni

Happy National Milk Day | Daioni

Today marks National Milk Day, historically a celebration of the first day when milk was delivered in glass bottles, allowing it to stay fresher for longer.

Today, however, it is dedicated to encouraging children and adults alike to get their calcium fix.

A brand I have recently had my eye on is Daioni, which is available in my local cafe The Green Owl, Buckhurst Hill.

The Welsh company has created cartons of Chocolate, Banana and Strawberry organic milk which are free from artificial flavourings.

Milk isn't the first drink I would reach for (especially not flavoured milk due to their thick constancy and artificial taste), however these packs of goodness have become a breakfast staple in my household.

With only 25% of boys and less than 10% of girls aged between 9-13 consuming the recommended amount of calcium, these handy cartons are also great for packed lunches.

Available in 200ml and 250ml cartons you can pick up yours at Ocado and independent delis and cafes nationwide for 79p and 99p.

Golden Geese and Guilted Grapes

November 01, 2011

Food finish is the world's first food colouring in a spray can, giving you the chance to transform your culinary feats into works of precious art.

The spray is certified as edible and tasteless, so is completely safe to use.

The stockists of the food colorant, The Deli Garage, decided to create a golden Turkey fit to impress any in law visiting for Christmas Lunch -looks as good as a golden goose eh?

Just spray and chrome your toast, gild your tomatoes, or plate a steak - food finish adds a shine to anything that comes under its nozzle in the kitchen.

Like with real paint, it’s best to apply several thin layers for a perfect finish.

Früute Tart

Früute Tart

New Los Angeles based pastry shop Früute found their match made in
sweet tooth heaven when they hired Ferro Concrete
to brand their mouth watering bakery concept.

The design direction for Früute uses an exceptionally clean, modern
and natural aesthetic, creating an engaging and unique experience
for a premium product that’s entirely unordinary.

Früute Tart
Sea Salt Cramel: I love the attention to detail
with the single flake of salt on top.

My favourite here is the Wasabi Tart: It looks great and incorporates
strong hot flavours with sweet undertones.

These deserts appear on so many levels beyond food, beauty was the first to come to mind.
“We are like fruit matchmakers” they said when speaking about their philosophy,
but they seem to have matched a lot more than fruit to create these
unforgettable pieces of food art.

Seen as their products are mini works of modern art and contain unique,
mouth watering flavours
it's surprising they only retail at $3 each!

The Ingredients:

I also have a love of simple, clean photography, and thought their ingredient pictures where a quirky way to show what is in their products.

-Imagine seeing a photographic list of ingredients for other products such as Coca Cola, Crispy Cream Doughnuts or Iceland ready meals....
